The Effect of Temperature and Humidity on the Stability of SARS-CoV-2
An interesting not yet peer -reviewed article by Morris et al. titled “The effect of temperature and humidity on the stability of SARS-CoV-2 and other enveloped viruses” was made available in pre-print form recently. The authors found that SARS-CoV-2 survives better at low temperatures and extreme relative humidities. Virus half-life was more than 24 hours at 10 °C and 40% relative humidity (RH), but only about 1½ hours at 27 °C and 65% RH.
