Fire at Ford Truck Plant Extinguished Thanks to Emergency Response Training
ERS International has provided members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan with a variety of training programs related to emergencies that may occur at the facility. This includes responses to hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, confined space rescues, and fires.
On April 19, 2021, several members of the ERT used their skills in extinguishing a fire that started in a pile of dunnage outside the plant. Because of their training, members of the team knew to stay downwind of the fire as they supplied water from a 1.5-inch hose line. They extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes and kept it from spreading to the nearby building.
